Bicyclist killed in crash with carriage
MACKINAC ISLAND — A bicyclist died Wednesday after colliding with a carriage on Mackinac Island, police said.
The cyclist, a 77-year-old woman from Huntington Woods, was seriously injured and transported to McLaren Northern Michigan hospital in Petoskey, where she later died, the Petoskey News-Review reported.
According to the Mackinac Island Police Department, the incident occurred at about 2:15 p.m. in the area of Main Street and Bogan Lane. The westbound cyclist collided with a carriage traveling eastbound, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
