Tri-County Safe Harbor gets donation

The Escanaba Eagles Aerie 1088 and the Escanaba Elks Lodge 354 recently held an eight week long shuffleboard tournament. This is the first time there has ever been a competition of this nature between the two organizations. The Eagles and Elks participants donated money each week the tournament was being held. The purpose of which was to donate to charity of the winning organization’s choice. The Eagles ended up winning after eight weeks. Both clubs were able to have donated a combined total of $800. The proceeds of which were donated to the charity of The Eagles choice which was endorsed by the Elks as well. The charity chosen was Tri-County Safe Harbor. “We are pleased to help people who are truly doing good things in the community. Creating a safe environment for woman and children in need,” organizers said. Shown in the photo are members of the Eagles and Elks present a $800 check to Missy O’Neill, program manager of Tri-County Safe Harbor.
