Registration open for steam engine golf scramble

GLADSTONE — Team registrations are being accepted for the 4th Annual Gladstone Soo Line Steam Engine #730 Authority 4 person 18 hole Golf Scramble. The event will be held on Thursday, May 29, at the Escanaba Country Club.

Entry fee is $360 per 4-person team. The tournament format is an 18-hole scramble, and the entry fee includes green fees, dinner, flight prizes, gun and 50/50 raffle and a chance to win a brand new Jeep Compass compliments of O’Connors Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Pickford for a Hole in One on the 13th green, plus other prize packages on the remaining par 3 holes.

Dinner will be served approximately around 4 p.m. and the public is invited to dine with us. The tournament will have a shotgun start at 110 a.m., with registration at 10. The awards ceremony and raffle winners will be announced immediately following the tournament’s completion. Area golfers and families of Soo Line retirees are encouraged to sign up and join us.

Proceeds from this Golf Scramble go to the continued perpetual care of Soo Line Steam Engine #730 and the preservation of other historical railroad artifacts to be added and displayed in our planned history center and museum building for the added value of the community. This year’s tournament is once again co- hosted by the Community Foundation for Delta County with all funding being turned over to them in an endowment and Un- endowed fund.

The Gladstone Soo Line Steam Engine Authority is a 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit organization that is also seeking additional donations to help support the outing.
