Bay TRIO program to recognize students

ESCANABA — The Bay College TRIO Student Support Services program announces a special celebration event recognizing the academic achievements of its students. On Wednesday, April 16, TRIO students who earned a 3.0 GPA or higher will be honored for their hard work and dedication to academic success.

As part of the celebration, the TRIO program is excited to welcome Pam Reed, renowned ultra runner, and Upper Peninsula native, as a guest speaker. Pam’s inspiring presentation is open to the public–students, faculty, staff, and community members are all invited to attend.

Pam Reed’s presentation will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Besse Theater on Bay College’s Escanaba campus. Admission is free of charge.

Pam Reed is a two-time overall winner of the grueling 135-mile Badwater Ultramarathon and the first person to complete a 300-mile run without sleep. Raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Pam has built a reputation as one of the most accomplished endurance athletes in the world. Her talk will focus on perseverance, pushing past perceived limits, and how grit and determination can help us all overcome challenges.

“This event is a celebration of student achievement, and Pam’s story is a powerful example of what can be accomplished with commitment and resilience,” said Matt Stewart, Director of the TRIO program.

For more information about the event, please contact the TRIO office at 906-217-4133 or trio@baycollege.edu.

Starting at $2.99/week.
