Life Skills Program offered by YMCA
ESCANABA — The Northern Lights YMCA is excited to announce the launch of a brand-new Life Skills Program, designed to help teens develop essential skills for success in the real world. This hands-on program will introduce kids to a wide range of life skills through expert guidance and interactive experiences, empowering them with the tools they need to thrive.
The first two sessions in this exciting series will focus on financial literacy. These sessions are open to teens ages 13-16 and will feature partnerships with community organizations eager to share their expertise with the next generation.
Session 1: Money Masters with First Bank
Date: March 18, 2025
Time: 5:30 – 7 p.m.
Location: YMCA Multipurpose Room
Cost: $10 for members, $20 for the general public
This session will focus on financial literacy, with expert guidance from the team at First Bank. Teens will learn about budgeting, saving, and other essential financial skills in a fun and engaging environment.
Session 2: Spartan Dollars and Cents with 4H
Date: April 17, 2025
Time: 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Location: YMCA Multipurpose Room
Cost: $10 for members, $20 for the general public
This session, led by 4H, will focus on a budgeting challenge, where teens will put their new financial knowledge into practice by creating and managing a budget.
