ESCANABA – The following individuals were recently sentenced in Delta County Circuit Court on unrelated charges.

Garrett Jennings Van Net, of 708 Delta Avenue, Apt. 1A, in Gladstone was found guilty by a jury of resisting/assaulting/obstructing a police officer. He was sentenced to 45 days in jail with credit for two days already served.

He was also ordered to pay $258 in fines and fees.

Trenton Joseph Smith, of West 3933 B Street, Loretto, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

He was sentenced to 24 days in jail with credit for 24 days already served. He was ordered to pay $698 in fines and fees.
