MENOMINEE — Activities of the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department.
November 1
3:23 pm – A deputy initiated a traffic stop on M-35 in Menominee Township for speed. Upon further investigation the driver, a 20-year-old Menominee man, was arrested for violation of the concealed carry law. He was transported and lodged at the Menominee County Jail.
9:45 pm – Deputies along with fire were dispatched to a motor home on fire on Swede Rd in Harris Township. The owner stated he was moving it because he was trying to sell it and it started on fire. I appeared it was an electrical issue that started the fire. No injuries were reported.
November 2
1:52 pm – Deputies were dispatched to a domestic assault on School Rd in Daggett Township. An investigation was conducted and it was found that the incident was verbal in nature. Two subjects were warned of criminal trespass and the incident was closed.
9:28 pm – A Deputy initiated a traffic stop on Old 41 in Stephenson Township for suspicion of intoxication. Upon further investigation the driver, a 63-year-old Stephenson man, was arrested for open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. The suspect was released with an appearance citation.
11:53 pm – A deputy along with fire were dispatched to a structure fire on O-1 Dr in Menominee Township. The fire did not appear to be suspicious in nature. No injuries were reported in the incident.
November 3
2:17 pm – A deputy was dispatched to a traffic crash on US 41 in Menominee Township. A vehicle driven by Hunter Haataja (25) of Marinette was traveling south on US 41 when he was going to merge at the end of the passing lane and didn’t notice a car next to him. He swerved away from the other car and lost control causing him to enter the ditch. No injuries were reported but the vehicle sustained disabling damage and had to be towed.
November 4
8:30 am – A deputy was dispatched to a private property damage crash on Haggerson Ct in Menominee Township. A vehicle driven by a 21-year-old Menominee woman was backing up in a parking lot when she struck a parked car. No injuries were reported.
8:31 am – A deputy was dispatched to Swede Rd in Harris Township for a malicious destruction of property complaint. The caller stated that someone damaged his truck while it was parked on his property. An investigation was conducted and is ongoing.
November 5
2:30 pm – A deputy was advised to contact a subject in reference to a fraud complaint on M-35 in Ingallston Township.
November 6
8:26 pm – Deputies were dispatched to a domestic assault on Cedar St in Spalding Township. The caller stated her juvenile was out of control. Things had calmed down and the incident was cleared.
November 7
10:10 am – A deputy initiated a traffic stop on Pine Ave in Spalding Township. Upon further investigation the driver, a 64-year-old Hermansville man, was arrested for driving while license revoked, failure to transfer registration plates and operating without security.
