October 21

5 p.m. A deputy arrested a 41-year-old Ishpeming man on two valid warrants out of 95A District Court of Menominee for failure to appear for show cause in Marquette County. The man was transported to the Menominee County Jail where he was lodged.

3:25 p.m. A deputy was advised to contact a subject in reference to a theft of equipment on Birch Creek Rd in Menominee Township. The caller stated he had an item stolen from his property. An investigation was conducted and ongoing.

October 23

9:15 p.m. A deputy initiated a traffic stop on M-35 in Menominee Township for an equipment violation. Upon further investigation the driver, a 26-year-old Oconto Falls, Wis. man was arrested for no operator’s license. He was advised to contact the court within ten days.

11:46 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a domestic assault on Fellion Rd in Stephenson Township. Upon further investigation it was found to be a family dispute and the parties were separated and the incident was closed.

October 24/

7:45 p.m. A deputy initiated a traffic stop on US 2 in Meyer Township for speed. Upon further investigation the driver, a 32-year-old Iron Mountain man, was arrested for operating while under the influence of drugs. He was lodged at the Menominee County Jail without incident.

October 25

6:52 a.m. A deputy conducts a welfare check on a vehicle on US 2 & 41 in Spalding Township. Upon further investigation the driver, a 29-year-old man was arrested on two valid warrants. One from Dickinson County and one out of Delta County. The man was transported to the Delta County Jail where he was lodged.

October 26

2:18 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to US 41 in Nadeau Township for a suspicious situation. The caller stated two subjects came up to their house and ran the doorbell and then walked away. Contact was made with the suspects on the highway and it was found that they had ran out of gas. They were given courtesy rides home.

1:32 p.m. A deputy initiated a traffic stop on US 41 in Spalding Township for excessive speed. The 22-year-old Brown Deer, Wis. man was arrested for reckless driving. He was given a citation and released to contact the court within ten days.

6:31 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to a car vs tractor crash on US 41 in Nadeau Township. A vehicle driven by John Schlaefer (77) of Madison, Wis. was traveling south on US 41 and failed to see a tractor that was being driven by Bryce Holle (27) of Hermansville. The vehicle collided with the tractors back tire causing disabling damage to the both the car and tractor. Schlaefer was transported to the hospital for his injuries.

October 27

1:54 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to Swede Rd in Harris Township for a report of a breaking and entering. The caller stated he had not been to his property for a while and when he got there, he found several items had been taken. An investigation was conducted and is ongoing.

6 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic crash on Front St in Spalding Township. A vehicle driven by Shaun Knutter (38) of Powers was making a left hand turn onto Front St from Second St when a vehicle driven by Amber Bourassa (29) of Norway was attempting to make a left hand turn from Front St to Second St and proceeded forward causing a side swipe collision. No injuries were reported in the incident and both vehicles sustained minor damage.

8:58 p.m. A deputy arrested a 26-year-old Escanaba woman on a valid warrant in Delta County. The warrant was for failure to appear for show cause out of 95A District Court of Menominee. The woman was transported to the Menominee County Jail where she was lodged.

October 28

6:24 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to an alarm at a business on US 41 in the City of Stephenson. The building was found to be secure.

11:37 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to a dog’s at large complaint on CR 356 in Lake Township. The caller stated several dogs were attacking a woman while she was walking on the road. The owner was warned to keep her dogs on her property.

1 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a dumping complaint on State Rd in Faithorn Township. The caller stated they located several bags of garbage that had been dumped along the road. An investigation was conducted and the suspects were located. They cleaned up the garbage and disposed of it properly.

October 29

12:31 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to Frenchtown Rd in Daggett Township for a report of a domestic assault. The caller stated that there was an altercation at the residence but they agreed to separate. The incident was closed.

9:11 p.m. A deputy initiated a traffic stop on Lance Rd in Lake Township. The driver fled from the stop and a pursuit entailed. The suspect fled to his residence in his vehicle and then fled on foot. An investigation was conducted and the incident was sent to the Prosecutor’s office for possible charges.

October 30

9:27 a.m. A deputy arrested a 46-year-old Wilson man on a valid warrant in Delta County. The warrant was for failure to appear to show cause out of 41st Circuit Court of Menominee. The man was lodged at the Menominee County Jail without incident.

October 31

1:15 A deputy was dispatched to a dog at large complaint on R-3 Rd in Meyer Township. The owner was contacted and the incident was investigated.

1:21 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a domestic assault on M-35 in Menominee Township. The caller stated that the two parties were arguing and she was concerned that it would get out of hand. An investigation was conducted and the parties were separated for the night.

7:34 p.m. A deputy arrested a 55-year-old Menominee man on M-35 in Menominee Township on valid warrants out of Oakland County. The first warrant was for 4 counts of sex offender-failure to comply and the second for 4 counts of probation violations. The suspect was lodged at the Menominee County Jail where he was awaiting pick up from Oakland County.
