Library begins Winter Reading Challenge for adults, teens

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Public Library announces its Winter Reading Challenge, open to adults and teens beginning on January 13 – March 8. Participants can pick up a reading log and entry forms at the circulation desk or drive-up window.

“The challenge is simple,” says Monique Ciofu, Librarian, “8 titles, 8 weeks and 8 weekly winners, If a patron completes the book log each week they are eligible to enter the weekly drawing for a $25 gift card. If they complete all 8 weekly challenges, they are eligible to enter the drawing for the big prize, a $100 gift card.”

Each week participants will choose a title based on a specific subject, such as non-fiction, Michigan Notable Author, friend recommended and others. For those readers who need suggestions for what to read next, library staffers are always happy to recommend a book title or author or refer patrons to online resources like Novelist for recommendations. Any format book including e-books, audiobooks, large print, or a CD book can be used for the reading challenge. Visit our digital library at the Great Lakes Digital Library at https://gldl.overdrive.com/ for digital titles.

The program is possible with the generous support of the Friends of the Escanaba Public Library.

The Escanaba Public Library is located at 400 Ludington Street in downtown Escanaba. For details about the Winter Reading challenge, call 906-789-7323, visit the library’s web site at http://www.escanabalibrary.org or link to its Facebook and Instagram.
