Three driver’s license restoration clinics in U.P.
LANSING — This week, the Michigan Department of State (MDOS), along with community partners, will host three Upper Peninsula Road to Restoration driver s license clinics in Hancock, Kingsford, and Marquette. Clinic participants will learn the necessary steps to restore their driving privileges. Pre-registration for the U.P. clinics is now open at/ Michigan.gov/R2R.
The Road to Restoration program will make the following stops in the U.P.:
Hancock August 13
Michigan Works! Upper Peninsula
400 Quincy St., 8th Floor
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Walk-ins available until 2 p.m.)
Kingsford August 14
Michigan Army National Guard
401 South Carpenter Ave.
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Central (Walk-ins available until 2 p.m.)
Marquette August 16
Northern Michigan University
Northern Center – Ballroom IV, 2nd Floor
1401 Presque Isle Ave.
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Walk-ins available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
The Road to Restoration program was created after/ changes to state law in 2021/ lifted suspensions for drivers who failed to pay tickets or court fines or failed to appear in court for certain non-moving and other violations. While the new laws removed suspensions for more than 150,000 Michiganders, many must still take further action to get their driver s license restored.
