Anderson elected to Board of Michigan Funeral Directors Association

LANSING — Keith Anderson of Anderson Funeral Homes, located in Escanaba and Gladstone, was recently elected District #5 director of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association (MFDA). The MFDA is a professional organization representing roughly 1,100 funeral directors serving 500 funeral homes statewide and over three-quarters of all mortuary science licensees in Michigan.

“We are honored to have Keith bring his expertise to the MFDA board this year,” said Phil Douma, executive director of the MFDA. “His experience and expertise in funeral services will be a real asset to our work to strengthen the profession.”

Anderson is a third-generation funeral director who worked alongside his father, Arthur, brother, Chris and niece, Christina in the family business. Anderson Funeral Homes is still a family business, as Keith’s wife, Lisa, is also active with the funeral home.

He graduated from Escanaba High School and began his college career at Bay de Noc Community College. Anderson completed his education at the University of Minnesota, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in mortuary science in 1986.
