During his visit to Delta County Friday, Michigan Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist made a brief stop at OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group. He acknowledged and thanked some of the caregivers who have been on the frontline of patient care throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, which included delivering cupcakes made by For the Love of Cupcakes. The Lt. Governor was welcomed by OSF HealthCare leadership and visited employees on the 2 South hospital floor, where patients are hospitalized for an acute illness such as COVID-19 and the Emergency Department. He also made a quick stop at the COVID-19 center where COVID-19 testing and monoclonal antibody treatments are administered, recognizing those who are working in the cold temperatures manning drive-thru testing for the community.
