ESCANABA — It’s not every day we get to see our waterfront community through fresh eyes–but that’s exactly what happened when leadership expert Ian Hill and his team joined us for a special You Make THE Difference presentation at the Chamber of Commerce. And what did they see? Towns that shine with smiles, hospitality, and heart.
From the moment they arrived, our guests felt the warmth of our people. They said, “Everywhere we went, we were greeted with smiles.” That spirit of welcome set the tone for a visit they won’t soon forget.
They began their day with a hearty breakfast at a local diner and wrapped up the evening with dinner at our newly opened sports bar, enjoying both the food and the friendly atmosphere. Our guests stayed at two different hotels during their visit and received top-notch hospitality at each – a testament to the pride our lodging partners take in making visitors feel at home.
Of course, no visit to our waterfront community would be complete without a taste of local flavor — a warm, hearty pasty served with ketchup for lunch. And our guests did not leave empty-handed. Before they hit the road, we made sure they had a sweet send-off with Sayklly’s signature Yooper Bars – a delicious reminder of their time in the U.P.
On behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, thank you to every restaurant server, hotel staff member, business owner, and friendly face who helped make their experience so positive. You reminded our visitors–and all of us–why this community is so special.
Because here, it is not just the beauty of the Bays de Noc that leaves a lasting impression.
It is the people who live beside them that Make THE Difference.
