Rich Mortl

ESCANABA — Escanaba Elks Lodge #354 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America has selected Rich Mortl as the Elk of the Year for the 2024-2025 Fraternal Year.

Mortl has been a member of the Elks for 20-plus years and has proven himself to be an active and dedicated member. He has served the lodge over the past year as Club Manager. He has volunteered countless hours always stepping up where needed. He spearheaded the first meat raffle, which was a huge success. Mortl has owned and operated multiple businesses in Iron Mountain for the past 35 years. He served on numerous boards including the Chamber of Commerce, EDA, always offering to chair numerous events when needed. He is continually volunteering time to give back to the community that supported him for more than 35 years in business.

Mortl sold his last business and retired six years ago, at which time he and his wife Becky moved back to Escanaba to enjoy life with his daughters, their husbands, six grandchildren and his parents.

The Elks would like to congratulate Mortl on this well-deserved recognition and thank him again for his countless hours of volunteerism and dedication to the lodge.
