Escanaba American Legion to meet

ESCANABA — American Legion Post #82 of Escanaba will be conducting meetings every first Tuesday of the month at the Purple Heart Building, 1202 Sheridan Road, in Escanaba. The meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Pasty sale May 7-8

ESCANABA — St. Thomas Church will be selling pasties on May 7 and 8 from 3 to 5 p.m. There will be no early sales. Pasties will be available with of without rutabaga.

This will be the church’s last pasty sale until September.

Tea party to honor Past Honored Queens

ESCANABA — Bethel #9 of Job’s Daughters International (JDI), formerly the International Order of Job’s Daughters, will be hosting a tea party honoring Past Honored Queens on May 4 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 819 1st Ave. South, in Escanaba.

In the spirit of tradition and personal flair, the Bethel asks each guest to bring their favorite cup to enjoy their beverage in. Fancy dress is welcome, and encouraged, though not required. Guests may dress to the occasion as they wish.

A brief presentation on classic tea party etiquette will be shared during the gathering, offering a glimpse into the customs and courtesies of teatime.

Ladies of all ages are welcome and are encouraged to bring a friend or two to share in the experience.

Parish breakfast

ESCANABA — St. Joseph & St. Patrick Parish, 709 1st Ave. South, Escanaba, will be having its monthly breakfast on Sunday, April 27 from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the parish hall, which is located in the basement of the church. There is elevator access to the parish hall inside the 7th street side door entrance to the church.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
