May Ann Carlson celebrates 100th birthday

BARK RIVER — May Ann Carlson turned 100 today. She enjoyed her free dinner at the Family Inn with her daughters, nieces, nephews and a few friends. She will have a large celebration in May at the Ford River Town Hall.

Carlson lives in her own home, is very healthy and takes care of herself. Her hobbies include reading, working puzzles and writing letters. She looks forward to going to the mailbox daily and is enjoying her birthday cards.

Carlson had four children with her lifelong husband Eddie. Their children are Carol (John) Hudson, of Perronville; Donna Baker, of Englewood, Fla.; Mary (Doug) Brassick, of Shaffer; and deceased son Richard (Colleen) Carlson, of Escanaba. Her grandchildren are Cherie Granquist, Philip Carlson, Adam Carlson, Carrie Lieberman, Denise Gillis, Sarah Gardner, Collin Feak, and Brody Sanville.
