Prizes sought for raffle
ENSIGN — The Ensign Township Volunteer Fire Department is seeking donations of prizes for its 43rd annual raffle.
The raffle is the sole fundraiser for the year and the fire department relies heavily on the funds raised by the event to continue keeping firefighters properly trained and equipped with safety gear.
The raffle will take place Saturday, May 3, at the Ensign Township Hall in conjunction with the dinner the department hosts for the Heroes Harvest Veteran Turkey Hunt. The hunt takes place in the area each spring.
Soup and chili cook-off
ROCK — The Rock Lions Club will host its first Soup or Chili Challenge on Saturday, March 1. The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. at the Rock Lions Club, located at 14454 M-35 in Rock.
Those interested in competing in the event are asked to call Amy at 906-280-1417 or Theresa at 906-241-8566. Prizes will be awarded for both the soup and chili categories.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Mid Peninsula Wolverine Circuit Breakers FIRST Robotics Team #7782.
Esky Class of ’75 reunion planned
ESCANABA — Escanaba High School Class of 1975 is planning its 50th reunion. Classmates are asked to save the date of Saturday, Sept. 27. The event will be held at the House of Ludington.
The reunion committee will send out invites by the end of March.

Pasty sale in Rapid River Feb. 25
RAPID RIVER — Pasties are available for pickup at Saint Charles Parish Center, Rapid River on Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Pasties may be ordered with or without rutabaga by calling 906-474-6606.
