Lenten music program and breakfast
ESCANABA — The Annual Lenten Breakfast and Musical Program at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 South Lincoln Road in Escanaba will be held Saturday, March 1 at 9:15 a.m. with the program to follow at 10 a.m. The theme is “Waiting for God’s Time.”
Seating for the breakfast is limited to 200, program seating is unlimited. Call for your breakfast reservation by Feb. 26 to 906-786-6771 or 906-280-4038. Nursery care will be provided upon request.
A freewill donation for breakfast and musical program will be received at the program. The ILCW will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Delta County Victims Services Unit who assist the sheriff’s department with short term crisis intervention.
Soo Line Steam Engine #730 Authority to meet
GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Michigan Soo Line Steam Engine #730 Authority will hold its regular Monthly meeting on Feb. 10 at 4:30 p.m. at 819 Delta Ave., Solid Rock Church.
A membership drive is being organized. Anyone in the community that would want to be involved with the group is encouraged to attend.
Planning is underway for the annual four-person golf fundraiser on May 29 at the Escanaba Golf Course. Donations continue to be sought for restoration and perpetual care. All donations are being accepted by the Community Foundation for Delta County, 2420 1st Ave South, Escanaba, Michigan. 49829. Checks can be made out in care of Soo Line #730.
Soo Line historical artifacts are still being accepted by donation or consignment. Call Authority President John Pickard for details. 906-241-0888. Soo Line #730 train t-shirts and sweatshirts, coffee mugs and memorabilia is also available.
Catholic faith formation classes meet in Esky
ESCANABA — Mike Cousineau teaches an adult Catholic education class that meets each Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Holy Name Grade School multi-purpose room. All are welcome to attend.
Anyone interested in “test driving” a class can search for “Escanaba Faith Formation” on YouTube to see past classes.
Benefit for Gary Tryan
ESCANABA — A benefit for Gary Tryan, Jr., who recently underwent a double lung transplant, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Escanaba Eagles Club, located at 608 Ludington Street. A spaghetti dinner will be provided in addition to raffles and silent auction. Donations made at the event will assist the family with medical bills, travel expense and housing in Madison, Wis.
