Cancer Alliance luminary event Feb. 8

ESCANABA — The annual Delta County Cancer Alliance Luminary Event will be held Feb. 8, beginning at 1 p.m. at Blessed Hope Baptist Church. The family event supports cancer survivors and remembers the loved ones that have lost to cancer.

Doors open at 1 p.m. There will be tables filled with art supplies and luminary bags that can be purchased for $5 each to individually decorate in memory of and in honor of loved ones that we have lost to cancer or who may be living with cancer.

At 2 p.m., the bags will be displayed and a ceremony will be held.

All proceeds from the event will remain in Delta County to help individuals with cancer-related expenses.

If you would like to decorate bags but cannot be at the event, bags will be available at the DCCA office, 3430 Ludington Street. Payment will be accepted when completed to be displayed either at the office or the day of the event.

For more information, visit the Delta County Cancer Alliance-DCCA Facebook page.
