Genealogical Society meeting set for Monday
ESCANABA — The next meeting of the Delta County Genealogical Society will be Monday, Jan. 27, at 6:30 p.m. in room 961, of the Joseph Heirman University Center building at Bay College in Escanaba. Bring your research problems and stories.

Pasties in Rapid River
RAPID RIVER — St. Charles Church in Rapid River will be selling pasties on Tuesday, Jan. 28. Call 906-474-6606 to order pasties with or without rutabaga. Pickup time is 1 to 3:30 p.m.
Soup and chili cook-off in Rock for robotics
ROCK — The Rock Lions Club will host its first Soup or Chili Challenge on Saturday, March 1. The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. at the Rock Lions Club, located at 14454 M-35 in Rock.
Those interested in competing in the event are asked to call Amy at 906-280-1417 or Theresa at 906-241-8566. Prizes will be awarded for both the soup and chili categories.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Mid Peninsula Wolverine Circuit Breakers FIRST Robotics Team #7782.
Showing of ‘Sight’ to support Bay pantry
ESCANABA — Lakeside Christian church in cooperation with Bay Area Christian Ministries (BACM) and Delta Church, will host a showing of the Angel Studios movie “Sight” on Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Besse Theatre on Bay College’s campus.
The film is based on the true story of a doctor who works to bring sight to an orphan. It is rated PG 13.
The cost of admission is a donation of nonperishable food items of any amount or another donation to replenish the Bay College pantry. For questions contact Ryan Gilroy at 219-798-2965.
