‘Blue Christmas’ service set for Dec. 9

GLADSTONE — Covenant Church in Gladstone will hold a “Blue Christmas” service on Monday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m.

A Blue Christmas service is designed to hold space for those who are hurting, so they need not suffer in silence or alone. This is a quiet service, contemplative in nature. It includes silence; prayers; scripture, meditation and song; and candle lighting that brighten lives with the healing glow of comfort, courage and hope.

Covenant Church is located at 305 S. 9th Street.

YMCA to hold Christmas dance for kids

ESCANABA — The Northern Lights YMCA invites you to the 2024 Whoville Whoop-De-Do Christmas Dance. It will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the YMCA gymnasium located at 2000 North 30th Street, Escanaba. This event is for kids in K-3rd grades and the cost is $10 for members and $15 for the general public.

Your child can bop, jump, and jam to the sounds of a DJ while participating in numerous fun activities. Kids should make sure to wear their best “Who” hair and most festive socks to dance the night away in. A pizza dinner and Grinch juice will also be provided.

Delta Dems to meet

ESCANABA — The Delta Dems will meet Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the USW Hall, 1201 Sheridan Road, Escanaba. Social time begins at 6:30 p.m.; holiday treats are welcome.

New members and guests are welcome.

The Delta Dems will again be collecting donations for the DJ Jacobetti Center. The center’s November list can be found on their Facebook page and is also posted on the Delta Dems page.

Ford River Lions hold kids Christmas event

FORD RIVER — The Ford River Lions Club will be hosting a Kid’s Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 14 from noon to 3 p.m. The event will feature a hayride, food, crafts, gifts, and a visit from Santa.

Those attending may park at the Ford River Pub to catch a hayride.
