Silver Linings, a service group at Escanaba High School, held a mini “Tackle Cancer” event at a home football game and a “Spike Out Cancer” event at a volleyball tournament to raise $3,500 for the Delta County Cancer Alliance. Throughout October, the group raised money to help local families affected by cancer throughout the community by selling t-shirts, stickers, and pins. This donation will help local families with transportation costs that accrue while seeking treatment, as well as other financial assistance. Silver Linings could not have raised the money had it not been for the help of the generous sponsors: Jo to Go, Don’s Heating and Cooling, Meier’s Signs, the Moya Family, OSF Medical Group, Reflections Hair Salon, Peninsula Federal Credit Union.
