Kiwanis chicken BBQ

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Rapid River Kiwanis will have their annual Chicken BBQ Fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gladstone Middle School/Jones School Cafeteria.

Meals will be available for dine in or carry out. Delivery is also available by calling 906-428-2261 by Sept. 29.

Tickets are available at Pat’s Foods, Gladstone City Hall, Darmogray Jewelers, and from Kiwanis and Key Club Members. Sayklly’s caramel apples will also be available to purchase.

Taco Tuesday

GLADSTONE — Taco Tuesday is back at the American Legion in Gladstone. Tacos will be served on Sept. 19 from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome.

Forest Service retirees’ breakfast planned

ESCANABA — The annual Forest Service retirees’ breakfast will take place Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Drifters Restaurant in Escanaba at 9 a.m.

Faith formation class

ESCANABA — An adult and young adult faith formation class will take place at Holy Name Grade School every Wednesday evening, from 6 to 7 p.m., beginning Sept. 13.

The class titled, “Why is Life So Hard?,” will look at many of life’s toughest struggles and questions using Lectio Divina, a way to look at scripture using prayer and meditation to promote a deeper communion with God and a better understanding of the Bible.

Bibles will be provided and anyone who needs encouragement in their faith journey is welcome to attend. Call Julie at 906-233-9566 and let her know you plan to attend.
