Escanaba mistaken for ‘active shooter event’ area
ESCANABA — Thousands of people reportedly tuned into streams of Delta County’s police and emergency radio system Monday after what was likely an error in geography marked the county as the site of an active shooting event. Multiple news outlets based in the Chicago area have reported that a 48-year-old man was shot in a South Side alley Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. in the 8000-block of South Escanaba Avenue.
