Michigan police investigate possible Taser attack

August 28, 2014
Associated Press

CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Canton Township police are investigating whether a bounty hunter tried to shoot a woman with a Taser while taking her husband into custody.

The Ann Arbor News reports (http://bit.ly/1wHhGn1 ) police said Wednesday they're investigating the Sunday incident as a possible assault by the bail bonds company employee.

Camille Allen says her 29-year-old husband was wanted in Washtenaw County for not making payments or going to court after a drunken driving arrest. She says a bounty hunter attempted to use a Taser on her after arresting him.

The bail bonds company says Allen interfered with a legal arrest. It says the employee was trying to retrieve paperwork that Allen took from his back pocket.

Company employees brought Allen's husband to the county jail. He was released the next day.
