ESCANABA - Dale David Boggs, 60, of Escanaba, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014, surrounded by his family at the home of his twin sister in Moran, Mich., following a battle with cancer.
He was born in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Sept. 11, 1953, to Clifford Sr. and Mary Rauch Boggs.
Dale attended school in Bark River and lived most of his adult life in Escanaba.

Following his two-year service in the National Guard, Dale worked as a lumberjack in the woods. He was an avid NASCAR fan.
Dale is survived by a son, Dale Jr. (Jesse); grandchildren, Damian, Avery, and Dale III of Gibsonton, Fla.; brothers, Clifford (Anna) Boggs, Douglas Boggs of Escanaba, Roger (Barbara) Boggs of Arlington, Texas, and Charlie Boggs of Moran, Mich.; sisters, Elizabeth (LeRoy) Smith of Holland, Mich., Lorraine (Buddy) Taylor of Hickory Valley, Tenn., Shirley Schultz of Merritt Island, Fla., and his twin sister, Darlene (Pete) Heckman of Moran, Mich. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lewis; father, Clifford Boggs, Sr.; a brother, Ronald Boggs, Sr.; nephews, Raymond Boggs, Brian Boggs, Richard Cummings; and great nephew, Jeffery Anderson.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Escanaba with Joe Way officiating. Dodson Funeral Home of St. Ignace assisted the family with arrangements.
