Hannahville Boxing Club had a successful run this weekend as it went 2-0 competing in the boxing portion of the Meijer State Games of Michigan held in Grand Rapids. Marvin Mercier of HBC TKO’d his opponent, Cody Cross, a Michigan Golden Gloves champion, in the first round. HBC’s David Metzger won a 2-1 decision over Antoine Gooch Jr. The two opponents were previously 1-1 against each other with Gooch winning the first fight and Metzger winning the second. The Games embody the value of participation, sportsmanship, and healthy living among residents of the state of Michigan.
