ESCANABA - The Michigan Education Association (MEA) has chosen Bill Lake, past superintendent of Bark River-Harris Schools and current Board of Trustees member at Bay College, with the Paul Blewett Award given for a lifetime commitment to education. Blewett taught math for 43 years at Bark River-Harris High School, served as the Education Association president, and held numerous other positions within the MEA. Upon his untimely passing, his foundation endowed the MEA with funding to honor anyone whose career improved the lives of teachers, furthered the goals of the MEA, or furthered the cause of public education.
