ESCANABA - An Escanaba woman was sentenced Friday to six months in jail in connection with a domestic violence incident at an Escanaba Township home last year.
Amy Joi Silbernagel, 31, received the six-month sentence on one count of aggravated assault. She was also sentenced to 46 days in jail on one count of malicious destruction of property.
Silbernagel was also charged with one count of interfering with electronic communications, a two-year felony, but received a delay of sentencing. If she obeys her six-month probation terms, she will not be charged with this two-year felony.
Silbernagel was arrested in February on charges stemming from a Nov. 14, 2013, incident at her residence, according to Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post.
She served 46 days in jail prior to posting bond. During Friday's sentencings, she was given credit for the 46 days to be applied to both jail terms which are to be served concurrently. She was ordered to pay $100 in fines and costs.
Silbernagel was originally charged with the following: malicious destruction of a building $1,000-$20,000, a five-year felony; malicious destruction of personal property $1,000-$20,000 for damage done to beds and home furnishings, a five-year felony; aggravated domestic violence, a one-year misdemeanor; and interfering with electronic communications, a two-year felony.
