"Lives Change @ Your Library" is the theme of National Library Week. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. This year's celebration is April 13-19, and is a time to celebrate the contributions of the nation's libraries and to promote library use and support. Pictured are Caroline Kennedy and her boys, Vijay and Namith, who hope to win a book from the library.
The Friends of the Gladstone Library purchased 19 new books to give away during this event. Books of interest to give away at the end of April, will interest young children through adult. All patrons and non-patrons are invited to stop in to sign up for the prizes. Checking out the selections are Natalie and John Hansen. For more information about this promotion and services offered, call the library at 428-4224.
