URBANA, Ohio - Virginia Lee (Peterson) Levesque, 84, former Escanaba resident, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at the Sterling House Assisted Living in Urbana, Ohio.
She was born on March 28, 1929, in Escanaba, daughter to Gunner and Eva (Papineau) Peterson. Virginia graduated from Escanaba High School.
On June 8, 1946, Virginia Peterson married Henry Joseph Levesque at St. Joseph Church. He preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 1994.

Virginia worked at Sunset Motel, National Food Store and Jim's Miracle Market as a cashier, Meals on Wheels, and bartended at the Eagle's Club.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Virginia was a member of the Moose Lodge, Amvets, Eagles Club, V.F.W., and was a Lioness. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, crafting, flowers, volunteering, and the companionship of her rescue dog, Mika.
She is survived by her son, Terry (Kathy) Levesque of Urbana, Ohio; daughters, Lynn (Mark) Peacock of Gladstone and Mary "Mugs" Margaret of Escanaba; grandchildren, Stephanie (Frank) Stid, Travis (Mandy) Levesque, Jennifer Peacock and Kelly Peacock; great-grandchildren, Kassie and Breanna Stid, Jessica Conner, Abbie and Brody Levesque, Evan, Ally and Trevon Peacock; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 17 brothers and sisters. Virginia was the last of 18 children.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 6, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at St. Anthony Church with Rev. Eric Olson officiating. A meal will follow at the Escanaba Eagle's Club. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
