You can buy 16 pound canisters of propane for $16.95 to $19.95 all over town. You have all seen them at Krist, Walmart, Holiday, Nuggy's, Menards... you get the idea. That works out to about $4.45 a gallon. It was the same price five years ago, two years ago, and six months ago. They claim that the doubling and tripling price was because of the "shortage" of propane. How come the 16 pound canisters did not go up in price accordingly? It must be a different type of propane.
