WELLS TOWNSHIP - A Gladstone man who was injured in a snowmobile accident over the weekend continued to be treated at Marquette General Hospital today.
Thomas Lynch, 63, was operating a snowmobile in Wells Township in Marquette County when the machine hit a large dip in the trail. Lynch lost control of the sled and was ejected from the sled at 1:53 p.m. Friday, according to Marquette County Sheriff Department.
Lynch was transported to Marquette General Hospital where he was admitted for treatment. He was listed in stable condition this morning, according to a hospital spokesperson.
Lynch was traveling with two other snowmobilers when the accident occurred. They called 9-1-1 and aided the victim until emergency personnel arrived.
Assisting sheriff's deputies at the scene were Forsyth Township Fire and Emergency Medical Services and Marquette General Emergency Medical Services.
The Department of Natural Resources was contacted about the trail conditions and warning flagging was placed at the location, stated the sheriff's department.
