GLADSTONE - Worshipful Master Charles Londo relinquished his top hat and collar jewel to newly-installed Worshipful Master Frank Irons at a meeting of the Gladstone Masons in early December. This ceremony was directed by Bill LeVeque, Deputy Grand Master of the Michigan Masonic Order, and resulted in the induction of the other officers as well, including Jeffery Premo as Senior Warden, Darrel Hedges as Junior Warden, Dan Duncan as Secretary, Charles Londo as Treasurer, and Robert Hasselbom as Junior Deacon.
With a program of welcome and introductions, a lunch followed the 3 p.m. ceremony honoring those members who assumed these needed offices.
The officers and members of the Gladstone Masons Lodge will soon be directly involved in the sponsorship of their annual Fishing Derby for children under the age of 14 to be held at Van Cleve Park during the beginning weekend of June. The program will assist in the Michigan Child Identification Program, in supporting the ongoing care offered by the Masonic Home in Almo to those in need, in offering scholarship grants, in giving to local charities as well as to the Shriners Hospital.
Newly installed officers of the Gladstone Masons are: from left front, Robert Hasselbom, Junior Deacon; Frank Irons, Worshipful Master; and Darrel Hedges, Junior Warden. In back are new member, Wesley Irons; Jeffery Premo, Senior Warden; and Charles Londo, treasurer.
The Masons will conduct an open house at its lodge during the winter in order for participants to learn what the very historic Masonic Order has done and does do as a local fraternity.
