Fifty-five area youth altar servers and five clergy participated in the 19th annual Bowling and Pizza Party sponsored by the Escanaba Serra Club. The event took place at the Bowl-A-Rama in Escanaba on the day after Thanksgiving. The youth were recognized for all they do to help the clergy as servers at Masses. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the youth brought cans of food to the event for the area Saint Vincent de Paul food pantries. Present to support the youth were: Escanaba Serra Club Chaplain Rev. Fran DeGroot, St. Anne Church, Escanaba, Rev. John Longbucco, Holy Family Church, Flat Rock; Rev. Jamie Ziminski, All Saints Church, Gladstone; Rev. Darryl Pepin, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Bark River; and Permanent Deacon Dave Talford, St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Escanaba, and St. Anthony of Padua Church, Wells. Also supporting them with their presence were Sister JoAnn Jauquet, O.P., All Saints, and some of the youth Altar Server Coordinators and Serrans. Following the priests' individual messages of thanksgiving and appreciation to the youth, and a prayer blessing, the priests served pizza and pop to the group assembled.
