MANISTIQUE - Two individuals from Manistique have pleaded to charges related to the accosting of children last year in Hiawatha Township. Sentencings are scheduled in Schoolcraft County Circuit Court.

Daniel Lynn McDougle, 50, of 8554 7th St., Manistique, will be sentenced Dec. 5 on one count of attempting to accost children for immoral purposes (a two-year felony) and one count of conspiracy to commit accosting of children for immoral purposes (a four-year felony).

In exchange for the guilty pleas, one count of aggravated indecent exposure was dismissed against Daniel McDougle.

His wife, Kathy Jo McDougle, 40, of 7334W Riverview Drive, Manistique, will be sentenced Jan. 9 on one count of attempting to accost children for immoral purposes.

Dismissed charges against Kathy McDougle include one count of conspiracy to commit accosting of children for immoral purposes and one count of conspiracy to commit third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The two were arrested in August this year following an investigation by Michigan State Police from the Manistique Detachment. The incidents allegedly took place in August 2012 involving two victims under the age of 16 years.

Daniel McDougle and Kathy Jo McDougle were initially lodged in jail but then released after each posted bond.
