"Last Friday I witnessed a group of 35 high school students attending a Mass at St. Ann's Catholic Church for All Saints Day, a Holy Day in the Roman Catholic religion.
The students were the football team from St. Francis Xavier High School in Traverse City, stopping to attend Mass before going to a game against the Iron River Wykons.
It was impressive and inspiring for all to see these well groomed young men dressed with white shirts, ties, and dress pants while representing their school at Mass. Their behavior was exemplary.
The six accompanying adults, coaches, and school representatives should be proud to coach and travel with these praiseworthy students.
These young people and adults made a great impression on our faith community. This experience gives me renewed hope for our future leaders and society.
