St. Francis de Sales Catholic School in Manistique recently kicked off its wellness imitative, "Walk Around the World," with a family picnic and a walk down and around the boardwalk to start them on their 24,900 mile trek around the world. All the students were given a t-shirt with the "Walk Around the World" logo on the front and 25, 50, 75, & 100 mile increments to check off on the back. Students will be given a reward with each goal achieved. Parents, grandparents, and other family members were encouraged to participants. Adults can purchase a t-shirt at the school office. Once a month, the total miles walked will be recorded on a world map posted in the school gym.
