Blood donors give gift of life

October 26, 2013
Daily Press

This week's bouquets go to:

From the Delta County Credit Union:

"Delta County Credit Union members and employees saved 78 Yooper lives with their 2nd Annual Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center Blood Drive. There were 26 successful blood donations in the Bloodmobile at DCCU's Wells location. Thank you to all who participated."

From Big Brothers Big Sisters:

"Big Brothers Big Sisters would like to send a big thank you out to the Escanaba Freshman Football Team and their coaches for talking time out of their practice to share some of their skills with our BBBS "littles" on Oct. 16."

From Aileen Gagnon of Gladstone:

"I would like to thank the gentleman who found my cane in a cart at Wal-Mart. You were nice enough to turn it into Gladstone Public Safety. My name was not clear on the cane. I appreciate your gesture very much."

From The USMC League Auxiliary:

"The USMC League Auxiliary would like to thank the community and all that helped to make our first annual fundraiser a success."

From Ann Crispigna, Pauline Marmalick, Paula Yagodzinski:

"Thank you Peggy from Positively for hosting Italian guitarist Pino Forastiere Tuesday evening. It was wonderful to see such a gifted artist who takes his craft to an enjoyable listening pleasure. It was 'positively' masterful."

Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.

We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.

Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they've done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.

They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the submit news button. Once there, click on "Bouquets" and follow the simple instructions.
