GFWC of Escanaba and WDBC/WYKX recently conducted their ninth annual "Back to School Wishes on Wheels" event. As a result of the generous donation of school supplies by area businesses and the local community, over 90 filled backpacks were donated to Delta County students. A monetary donation from Peninsula Federal Credit Union was presented by Jennie Gylock, center, to Dannah Pietsch, volunteer representing WDBC/WYKX, at left, and GFWC member, Pat Bugay, at right. Among the other businesses and organizations assisting with the program were Walgreens, McDonalds, Pro Auto Body, Bay College, OSF St. Francis Hospital, and Amvet's Auxiliary Post 123.
Employees of Paul Mitchel School contributed to the “Back to School Wishes on Wheels” event. Pictured with their collection are: seated from left, Roman Slagstad, Krista Owes, and Jace Botsford; standing, Mary Doyen, GFWC member Cindy Reinhart, Camie Ferguson, and Anne Crittenden.
