Bayside Soccer practice was in session Thursday at the Bay College Soccer Field Complex. Above, assistant coach Martin Fix, center, plays a game of “Marbles” with Strikers travel team members Lizzy Sliva, 10, left, and Kylie Williams, 10, during practice. At left, Karson Krutina, 9, of the U10 boys travel team, tries out one of two new drinking fountains recently added to the complex. Other additions include a new field, irrigation system, bleachers, benches and goals that were funded by an $80,000 donation from the late John and Patt Besse. A work bee to assemble and install the bleaches, benches, and goals will take place today and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 3099 College Ave., Escanaba. Work will continue Sunday starting at noon if necessary. Volunteers are needed to help with the project. For more information, contact Glenn Gregg at 553-1178.
