Broeders celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

LA BRANCHE - Theodore P. Broeders and the former Nancy Louise Tolman were in united in Holy Matrimony 60 years ago on July 11, 1953 at St. Joseph's Church in Foster City. Irene Kwak, a friend of bride, served at matron of honor.

Bridesmaid was Greta Lucas. Ernest Broeders, brother of the groom, was best man and Warren Tolman stood as a groomsman. Their reception followed at the Hardwood Community Center.

Now retired, Theodore and Nancy enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, camping and fast track. In addition, Theodore's hobbies are hunting, fishing, word working, and gardening. Nancy enjoys reading.

The Broeders are the parents of seven children: Theodore (Shelly) Broeders Jr. and Bruce Broeders, all of LaBranche; Sue (Don) Carlson of Foster City; Linda Johnson of Loretto; Lila (Wade) Johnson of Bark River; Judy (Max) Hinkley from Minnesota; and Robert (Vicki) Broeders from Escanaba.

They also have 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The couple celebrated the special occasion at a dinner with their family.
