I am writing in response to the letter written by Sharon Hentz. I was a student at Soo Hill School during the time it shared a principal with Wells School. I can only speak from my own perspective, but sharing a principal was not good for the Soo Hill students.
The principal spent most of his time at Wells, leaving the secretary to handle not only her job but his as well.
That meant the secretary had to handle discipline problems when the principal was at the other school. Bullying was the norm at Soo Hill while it wasn't tolerated at Wells.
Yes, I know this was true because I later transferred to Wells and was surprised by the difference.
I know this is just one person's point of view, but if we are to give kids a safe learning environment each school needs its own principal.
