Representing Altrusa International of Escanaba, President Judy Owens, at right, presents a check for $250 to Jan Dillon, board member of the Youth Assistance Program. Altrusa has been making yearly donations to YAP since 1988 when Altrusa of Escanaba members founded this special project. The Youth Assistance Program is an all volunteer organization which strives to raise funds in order to distribute grants and provide activities for needy school-age children in Delta County, thereby helping to provide for their emotional as well as their physical well being. Altrusa's purpose is to promote better communities through service by an international network of people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. For more information and how to become involved, check out their Facebook page, Altrusa of Escanaba.
