BRAMPTON - The Days River Area Lions club held a special tribute to all service men and women on Saturday, May 18, in honor of Armed Forces Day during an open house held at the Days River Area Lions Clubhouse. Newest Lion members Samantha Menard and Heather Sanderson read special readings. Names and branch of service of family, friends and neighbors of those present were then honored and acknowledged.
The tribute was a part of the Lion's Club's open house to showcase the recent upgrades to the hall which included new flooring in the bar/kitchen area. The club also highlighted the many projects that they support locally, State wide and Internationally.
Chartered in August 1990, the Club moved their meeting place from the Kipling Hall to the old Brampton hall in 2002. Since moving into the hall the Club has continued ongoing renovations and upgrades to the building and property.
Lions Club PDG Wallen Godlewski, also an American Legion Life Member, initiates new Lions’ members, Heather Sanderson, Samantha Menard and Amber Boggs.
