MENOMINEE - Federal officials have taken over the court case of a Menominee man charged with possession of bombs police confiscated from his apartment two weeks ago.

Thomas Lee Bebo, 51, is charged with possession of bombs with unlawful intent. He was arraigned on the 15-year felony in Menominee County District Court.

The case was later turned over to federal authorities to prosecute at the federal courthouse in Marquette, explained Menominee County Prosecutor Dan Hass. Bebo is lodged in Marquette County Jail.

According to Menominee City Police, a neighbor alerted law enforcement to the possibility of bombs in Bebo's residence to be used to threaten the suspect's ex-wife.

During a police search, five explosive devices were found in his apartment on April 26.
