Members and officers of Arc of Delta County recently presented the Escanaba Public Library with a copy of "ASD and Me" by Theresa DeMars with the help of her son, Donnie DeMars. The book will help parents and individuals whose lives are affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder gain more understanding of this diagnosis. On hand for the presentation were: from left, Lourie Schuenke, vice president; Maria Maniaci, member; Dorothy Kohlman, project coordinator; Elaine Petersen, library volunteer; Alice Hansen, treasurer; and Cheryl Ohman, president. Additional copies of the book will be contributed to Delta County libraries for use by parents, students and educators in all of the local school districts. Arc of Delta County can be contacted at: P.O. Box 651, Escanaba, MI 49829, or by calling Cheryl at 786-9212. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. in the conference room of Lakestate Industries, 1831 N. 21st Street, Escanaba.
