This week's bouquets go to:
From the Delta County Crime Victims' Rights Week Committee
"The Delta County Crime Victims' Rights Week Committee would like to thank the Bowl-A-Rama and the general public for supporting our event on April 14. Congratulations to Pam Farrell and Det/Sgt Jean Belanger for their outstanding work with crime victims."
From Perspectives Adult Care Center in Escanaba:
"We want to send bouquets of flowers to Christ the King Lutheran Church and First Presbyterian Church of Escanaba for their recent monetary donations to our program. Your support, kindness, and generosity are greatly appreciated. May God Bless each and everyone of you."
From Janet Lindstrom:
"Thank you to all the crossing guards at our schools. You are faithful in all kinds of weather and you protect our children and students will."
From Anna Savage of Escanaba:
"I would like to send a bouquet to Monique Coifu, a librarian at the Escanaba Public Library, Carolyn Stacy, library director, and Joyce Anderson and the Wednesday Night Readers book club for sponsoring the community read, which was held last Thursday, April 25, at the library. It allowed several groups to get together and share their opinions on the book "The Washington Arsenal Explosion" by Brian Bergin. They were able to Skype with the editor of the book who was able to explain how the book found its way into print. Period music was provided by a brass quintet, a woman was dressed in period clothing and food was provided from the recipes from that time frame. We are so blessed to have this facility in our community. Their efforts are greatly appreciated."
Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.
We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.
Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they've done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.
They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the submit news button. Once there, click on "Bouquets" and follow the simple instructions.
