ESCANABA - Nationally known inspirational singer, Scott Michael Bennett, will perform a benefit concert at the Escanaba Upper Elementary School (formerly the Junior High) on Sunday, March 24, at 7 p.m. All proceeds from the concert will benefit the Escanaba Seventh-day Adventist Food Pantry, which serves families in need in Escanaba and surrounding areas.
Some of Bennett's musical accomplishments include membership in the acclaimed, Grammy award winning Phoenix Symphony Orchestra and Arizona State University's debut of its Men's chorus. He has also been featured on Three Angels Broadcasting Network (3ABN) Hope Channel (Hope TV) Safe TV, Olelo Studios (Hawaiian Channel), and Amazing Facts.
In 2001, Scott won the national young artist's competition in the vocal performance category. At age 19, Bennett recorded and released his debut album, "O Glorious Love." This was followed by his second album, "Come as You Are."
Though Christian focused music has been his passion, Scott also enjoys singing ballads, classical opera and patriotic tributes.
Bennett and his wife, Heather, have performed across the United States and abroad, but have now returned to their home state of Michigan to release the album, "Testify," and kick off a 12-month long concert tour in Michigan.
Bennett's concerts are his mission to share music, stories and multimedia in a powerful format meant to inspire listeners to live a purpose filled life. His ability to play guitar, piano and sing give the concerts plenty of musical variation and his short stories united with inspirational videos give unique variety and inspirational appeal.
Suggested donation at the door is $10 per person, $20 per family. Bennett's CD's will also be for sale after the concert.
