EAST LANSING - Carrie Diane Creten and Matthew Alan Oney exchanged wedding vows on Nov. 3, 2012, during a ceremony that took place at the Terrace Bay Inn in Gladstone. A friend of the couple, John Froehlich, officiated the ceremony.
Debra Satka, a friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were: Cherie Creten, sister-inlaw of the bride; Amy Okray, cousin of the bride; and Audree Orna, a friend of the bride.
Mike Oney, brother of the groom, stood as best man. Groomsmen were: Greg Creten, brother of the bride; and Tony Schilmiller, Grant Mitchel and Scott Franks, all friends of the groom.

Seating the guests were Mike Grillo and Frank Bayless, both friends of the groom. Lisa Babella, a friend of the couple, performed a poem for the ceremony. Cale Creten, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer.
Carrie is the daughter of Charlie and Patty Creten of Gladstone. She graduated from Gladstone High School in 2000 and earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Michigan State University in 2005. She is employed as the administrative assistant of marketing at Michigan State University Federal Credit Union.
Matt is the son of Kathe Burke of Aurora, Colo., and Norm and Myrna Oney of Windsor Locks, Conn. He graduated from Eaglecrest High School in Aurora, Colo., in 1998 and received his bachelor's degree in biology from Western State College of Colorado in 2006. Matt is currently working towards his Ph.D. in plant molecular biology at Michigan State University and a teacher's certificate from the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship through Michigan State University.
The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in December at Water Island in the United States Virgin Islands. The couple resides in East Lansing.
